WMATA Replacing Bus Shelters at Shady Grove East Station Through Feb. 6

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority is conducting a two-phase bus shelter replacement project at Shady Grove East Metrorail Station. Phase 1 (shelters A and B, affecting Routes 73, 79, 90, 53, 58, 65, 71, and 78) ran January 5–16; Phase 2 (shelters C and D, affecting Routes 74, 76, 43, 60, and 64) is scheduled January 20 through February 6, 2026. Temporary ADA-compliant bus stops are in use during construction, and riders should allow extra travel time and follow posted signage.
