DHHS Outreach to Homeless Residents During Extreme Cold; Crisis Line Available

Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) staff and community providers will conduct outreach to homeless individuals during the January 2026 extreme cold event, encouraging them to seek shelter. Residents concerned about unsheltered individuals can call the 24-hour Crisis Line at 240-907-2688. Emergency shelter preparations are also underway in case power outages or other emergencies require activation.
