500+ Plows Hit Primary Roads After Snow Emergency Declaration

Montgomery County declared a snow emergency at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, activating the MCDOT Storm Operations Center. More than 500 pieces of equipment began plowing primary roads at 4 a.m. on Jan. 25, with snowfall expected to continue until early afternoon. Residential roads will be plowed after primary streets are clear, with crews working around the clock.
