EC Committee Reviews $2.14B MCPS Capital Budget for FY27-32

The Education and Culture Committee will meet on Jan. 30, 2026 at 10 a.m. to review the FY2027-2032 Capital Improvements Program for Montgomery County Public Schools. The Board of Education requested more than $2.79 billion, over $1 billion more than the prior CIP; the County Executive recommends $2.14 billion, which is $652.3 million less than the Board's proposal. MCPS representatives will present on enrollment trends, boundary changes, facility conditions, and CIP prioritization criteria.
