Sidewalk Snow Enforcement Paused Until Feb. 2

The Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs announced that enforcement of sidewalk snow-clearing requirements is paused until Monday, Feb. 2, 2026. The pause is due to sustained freezing temperatures that have made snow-packed sidewalks icy and difficult to clear. Property owners are still encouraged to clear sidewalks when safe and to apply traction aids in the interim.
