ZTA Would Fast-Track Vacant Office-to-Housing Conversions

The More Housing N.O.W. package includes an Office-to-Housing Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) that would create an expedited approval process for converting high-vacancy commercial properties to residential use in Montgomery County. An accompanying Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) bill would provide tax incentives for such conversions. The legislation is scheduled for formal introduction on February 4, 2025.
