Montgomery County Taxi Rate Rises to $2.50 Per Mile

Effective February 1, 2026, all Montgomery County taxicabs — including wheelchair accessible vehicle taxicabs — raised their metered rate from $2.00 to $2.50 per mile. A new $1 nighttime surcharge applies to trips between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The Taxicab Services Commission and industry stakeholders recommended the changes, the first meter rate adjustment in more than 15 years, based on comparisons with surrounding jurisdictions.
