The Montgomery County Council will receive a briefing on Feb. 24, 2026 on the proposed designation of the Rose-Budd House in the Master Plan for Historic Preservation. The house, built in 1912 by Perry Budd and the ancestral home of the Budd, Riggs, and Rose families, is located in Sandy Spring and is being considered for designation at the owners' request. Designation would recognize the property as historically significant and subject it to protections under the County Code's Historic Resources Preservation chapter.
