County Seeks Public Input on Solid Waste Future, Possible Incinerator Closure

Montgomery County is evaluating options to modernize its solid waste system, including a potential closure of the Dickerson Resource Recovery Facility incinerator. The county's Department of Environmental Protection is hosting three public open houses — March 2 in Germantown, March 4 in Rockville, and March 5 virtually — to gather resident input on options that could affect solid waste rates, environmental justice, and greenhouse gas emissions.
