$2.6M Founder's Equity Fund Saved From Liquidation

The Montgomery County Council preserved $2.6 million remaining in the Founder's Equity Fund, a one-time 2024 investment designed to expand capital access for small businesses and entrepreneurs from historically under-resourced communities. The fund had been at risk of liquidation during FY27 budget negotiations. The Council also invested $5.4 million in the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation and more than $3 million for WorkSource Montgomery.
