East County Cold Storage Facility Opens in Silver Spring

A new East County Cold Storage facility in Silver Spring, spearheaded by Kingdom Global Community Development Corporation and Rainbow Community Development Center, opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by more than 40 people. The facility is funded in part through OFSR's FY25 Food Recovery Infrastructure Grant Program and is designed to increase the volume of fresh food that can be stored and distributed in the East County area. The shared resource aims to support sustainable food sourcing and reduce food waste.
