Johnson's Local Park Gets New Historic Signboards, Restoration Planned

Members of the Emory Grove community gathered at Johnson's Local Park to celebrate new signboards and a listening post commemorating the park's history as a gathering place for Black families and Negro League baseball. Councilmember Luedtke and community leaders are seeking to replace the current field with a lighted baseball field, dugouts, seating, and event space. The effort involves community leaders, state legislative partners, and Montgomery Parks.
