Council Committee Approves $62M for North Bethesda Life-Sciences Project

The Montgomery County Council's Economic Development Committee approved two capital expenditures totaling $62 million on March 5, 2026, to advance a major life-sciences and mixed-use development in North Bethesda. The funding includes $12 million for site infrastructure to make the land pad-ready and $50 million toward construction of the building that will house the University of Maryland's Institute for Health Computing (IHC). The IHC will serve as a research hub integrating computational expertise, clinical innovation, and health data.
