Glenmont Apartments Rezoning Remand: 458 to 2,275 Units Proposed

The Montgomery County Council will consider a remanded Local Map Amendment (LMA H-149) on March 10, 2026, for a roughly 35-acre property at Randolph Road and Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. The amendment seeks to rezone the site from R-30 to Commercial Residential Floating (CRF 1.75) to allow a mixed-use development of up to 2,275 dwelling units and 5,000 sq ft of commercial space, replacing 458 existing garden-style apartments. A hearing examiner recommended approval with an additional binding element on building height; a council vote is tentatively set for March 24.
