The Planning, Housing and Parks Committee meets March 16, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. to review the $2.9 million FY2027–2032 Capital Improvements Program for Agricultural Land Preservation Easements. The program funds acquisition of land preservation easements to protect farmland from development. As of June 30, 2025, Montgomery County has permanently preserved 72,008 acres for agricultural use, the highest percentage of farmland under preservation easements of any county in the nation.
