FY27 Budget Funds $19.4M Green Bank, Incinerator Shutdown

The FY27 recommended budget includes $19.4 million for the Montgomery County Green Bank and funds the transition away from incineration toward long-haul refuse shipping, an Organics Processing Facility for countywide food scraps collection, and an Advanced Waste Processing system. The budget also allocates $1.5 million for Tree Montgomery to fund approximately 3,000 trees. By the end of FY27, the County expects to have more than 100 zero-emission Ride On buses and approximately 200 electric vehicles in County operations.
