County Executive Marc Elrich and Council President Natali Fani-González announced on March 18, 2026 that Montgomery County will allocate $500,000 in supplemental funding to current recipients of the Nonprofit Security Grant Program. The funds, capped at $10,000 per organization, will support security staffing needs for the next 90 days and are adjusted based on each facility's risk formula from the FY2026 grant evaluation. The program is administered by the County's Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (OEMHS), which has provided more than $6.5 million to nonprofits and faith-based institutions since FY2019.
