ReceivedMar 18, 2026
The joint Economic Development (ECON) and Health and Human Services (HHS) Committee will meet on March 19, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. to review Bill 1-26, which would eliminate the Office of Legislative Oversight's requirement to submit an annual report on the County minimum wage and local economy by January 31 each year. The bill is prompted by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis discontinuing county-level data collection for four key indicators and by delays caused by the 2025 federal government shutdown. The reporting requirement was originally established under Bill 28-17, which raised the County minimum wage from $11.50 to $15 in 2017.
