Stewart Introduces Financial Exploitation Protection Act for Seniors

Councilmember Kate Stewart introduced Expedited Bill 16-26, the Financial Exploitation Protection Act, last week. The bill would expand the authority of the Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection to deter and redress fraud and deceptive practices targeting older and vulnerable adults. A public hearing date has not yet been scheduled.
