L8 Metrobus Replaced by M22 Route Starting June 29

WMATA's Better Bus Initiative takes effect June 29, 2025, replacing the L8 Metrobus with the new M22 route, which combines the L8, Y2, Y7, and Y8 routes to connect Olney to Bethesda via Aspen Hill and Wheaton. Ride On Route 34 will also be rerouted to stay on Connecticut Avenue to maintain coverage in the Kensington–Aspen Hill area. WMATA states no service is being eliminated in the affected communities.
