MCPS to Receive $90M Local Funding Increase Under FY27 Proposal

Council President Fani-González's revised FY27 budget proposal includes a $90 million increase in local funding for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) over the prior fiscal year. This comes on top of $584.4 million in increased County funding allocated to MCPS between fiscal years 2022 and 2026. Strategic savings targets would be spread proportionally across MCPS, Montgomery County government, Montgomery College, and M-NCPPC based on their relative budget sizes.
