Free Residential Deck Inspections Available Starting May 1

Montgomery County's Department of Permitting Services will begin accepting requests for free residential deck maintenance inspections on Friday, May 1, 2026, as part of Building Safety Month. The program is capped at 300 appointments and is not available to homeowners who received an inspection in 2025. Homeowners can schedule by calling MC 311 (240-777-0311) or submitting an online form; the program excludes properties within the city limits of Gaithersburg and Rockville.
