6.8 MW Microgrid Launched at Derwood Transit Depot

Bone Equipment Maintenance and Transit Operations Center in Derwood has completed a 6.8 MW microgrid featuring 9,800 solar panels, 2 MW of electric vehicle charging capacity, and battery storage. The system supports charging for 200 Ride On buses and powers five County buildings. The project advances Montgomery County's goal of a zero-emission transit fleet by 2035.
