Council President Fani-González partnered with the Governor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, the County's Office of Community Partnerships, and the Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center to host a pro bono citizenship clinic in Wheaton. Nearly 150 residents attended to receive legal assistance with the U.S. naturalization process. Lt. Governor Aruna Miller was also present at the event, and organizers plan to host additional clinics across the county.
