2026 Primary Candidate Filing Deadline Set for Feb. 24

The Montgomery County Board of Elections has announced that the deadline to file a Certificate of Candidacy for the 2026 Primary Election is 9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Candidates may file in person at the Board of Elections office at 18753 N. Frederick Avenue, Suite 210, in Gaithersburg, with appointments available by calling 240-777-8610 or emailing candidatefiling@montgomerycountymd.gov. Offices on the ballot include County Executive, County Council, State's Attorney, Clerk of the Circuit Court, Register of Wills, Sheriff, Board of Education (Districts 1, 3, 5, and At-Large), and both party Central Committees.
