Cardboard Boxes Must Go in Mixed Paper Bin, Not Blue Bin

Montgomery County DEP is reminding residents that cardboard boxes must be recycled in the mixed paper recycling bin or cart, not in the blue recycling bin used for bottles, cans, jars, and containers. Residents are asked to empty and flatten boxes before placing them out for collection. The reminder comes as holiday gift-giving and online shopping significantly increase cardboard volume.
