7.5 Miles of Bus-Only Lanes Coming to Rockville Pike Starting July 6

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will install 7.5 miles of bus-only lanes along portions of Rockville Pike/MD 355 beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, lasting through the Red Line closure period ending Sept. 6. Private vehicles will be barred from the lanes between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and no parking will be permitted in the lanes at any time. MCDOT will bag all affected parking meters effective July 6.
