Councilmember At-Large Laurie-Anne Sayles concluded a week-long tour of Montgomery County's Department of Health and Human Services the week of Dec. 30, 2025 — her first major initiative since becoming HHS Committee chair on Dec. 9. During the tour, Sayles met with DHHS leadership, frontline staff, nonprofit partners, and healthcare providers across behavioral health, public health, aging and disability services, homelessness prevention, and children and family services. Sayles said she will use the tour's findings to shape the HHS Committee's FY26–FY27 agenda, prioritizing health equity, access to care, and cross-sector coordination.
