OLO Report Examines Racial Disparities in Maternal and Infant Health

The Office of Legislative Oversight (OLO) released a report titled "Racial Disparities in Maternal and Infant Health Outcomes in Montgomery County" during April 2025 Minority Health Month, commissioned by Councilmember Sayles. The report found African American women face the highest risks of maternal mortality and morbidity in the county, and that their infants are twice as likely to die before their first birthday.
