The Silver Spring Metro Red Line station, adjacent to the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center, will be closed to riders on or about January 17–19, 2026, due to Purple Line construction. Shuttle buses will serve Takoma and Forest Glen stations during the closure. Ride On Routes 12, 13, 14, 16, and 18 also provide alternate service to Takoma Station, and Route 8 serves Forest Glen Station.
