January Named National Radon Action Month in County

January is National Radon Action Month, and the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection is encouraging residents to test their homes for the invisible, radioactive gas. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. and the leading cause among non-smokers, responsible for an estimated 21,000 deaths per year according to the EPA.
