TE Committee to Review New Bus Lane Fine, EV Charging Fees, Parking Rate Changes

The TE Committee will review a resolution on April 16, 2026 to adopt FY27 Transportation Fees, Charges and Fares, which includes several significant changes from FY26. Proposed changes include a new $75 fine for driving, standing, or parking in a bus lane; a new per-kilowatt-hour charge for electric vehicle charging in all Parking Lot Districts; a new Controlled Zone Permit for employers in each Parking Lot District; a new $60 fine for stopping, standing, or parking on a bikeway (per Bill 28-25); and a $250 hearing fee for the Residential Permit Parking program. The resolution also proposes ending parking fee collection at 6 p.m. instead of 10 p.m. on weekdays, eliminating Saturday parking fees, and increasing hourly rates for street, surface lot, and garage parking, while eliminating all Transportation Management District fees per Bill 24-25.
