Montgomery County Taxi Rates Rise to $2.50/Mile Feb. 1

Beginning February 1, 2026, Montgomery County taxicab fares will increase from $2.00 to $2.50 per mile — the first meter rate change in more than 15 years. A new $1 nighttime surcharge will also apply to trips taken between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The changes apply to all county taxicabs, including wheelchair-accessible vehicle taxicabs, and were recommended by the Taxicab Services Commission and industry stakeholders.
