Effective immediately through February 28, 2026, BGE will not send new late payment notices, attempt to collect overdue balances, or shut off power for non-payment. Montgomery County's Department of Environmental Protection highlighted the temporary customer protection measures in its January 13, 2026 energy newsletter. The moratorium applies to all BGE customers.
