Ambassador Curtis A. Ward, Jamaica's former Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Security Council (2000–2001) and Chair of the Maryland Caribbean Community Council, died Sunday, January 11, 2026, at his Montgomery County home. Councilmember At-Large Laurie-Anne Sayles issued a statement remembering Ward as a champion for Caribbean American communities in Maryland and Montgomery County. Ward also served as a founding member of the Caribbean American Advisory Group to the Montgomery County Executive.
