Bill Introduced to Redirect EMS Reimbursement Funds to Fire Departments
MCCouncilFeb 2, 2026
Councilmembers Luedtke, Katz, and Kristin Mink will introduce Expedited Bill 6-26 on Feb. 3, which would explicitly permit distribution of Emergency Medical Services Insurance Reimbursement Program revenues to authorized local fire and rescue department representatives. The bill follows an Office of the Inspector General report finding that direct distribution was inconsistent with existing County Code. A public hearing is scheduled for Feb. 24, 2026.
