Bora Biologics Opens $122.5M Rockville Manufacturing Facility

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and other officials celebrated the inauguration of Bora Biologics' drug substance manufacturing facility in Rockville on July 9, 2026. Bora Group, headquartered in Taiwan, acquired MacroGenics' GMP manufacturing operations and biologics facility for $122.5 million, retaining all 140 former MacroGenics employees on site. The FDA-approved facility will continue producing products for MacroGenics while offering expanded contract manufacturing capacity for other pharmaceutical companies, with plans for additional hiring and capital investment.
