Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week Events Set for June 6–14

The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection is hosting a series of events for Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week, running June 6–14, 2026. Activities include a department-wide litter cleanup, storm drain painting at a local middle school, and a community event celebrating the completion of the Old Farm Stream Restoration project in Luxmanor. Residents can also volunteer as Stream Stewards in the county's Storm Drain Marking and Storm Drain Art programs.
