Council Passes 18-Month Data Center Moratorium

The Montgomery County Council voted unanimously to pass an 18-month moratorium on the development of large-scale data centers. A companion zoning text amendment clarifies the definition of a large data center. Both measures were passed the week of July 28, 2026.
