Council Reviews $4.9B FY27 Compensation and Benefits Request

The Montgomery County Council will meet on April 28, 2026 to review the combined $4.9 billion FY27 compensation and benefits request from the County government, MCPS, Montgomery College, and M-NCPPC — a 4.5% increase over the approved FY26 budget. The Government Operations and Fiscal Policy (GO) Committee reviewed the request on April 20 and recommended bringing all items to the full Council. The funding covers pay adjustments, benefit cost increases, position changes, and retirement and health cost changes.
