MCCouncil May 12, 2026
The Montgomery County Council will introduce and vote on Executive Regulation 2-26, Systems Benefit Charges – Residential Waste Estimates, on May 13, 2026. The regulation sets estimated annual solid waste generation at 1.6213 tons per single-family residence and 0.7612 tons per multi-family residence, figures required under County Code to calculate residential system benefit charges. These estimates underpin the FY27 budget for the Department of Environmental Protection's Recycling and Resource Management Division.
