Council to Vote May 4 on Union Contracts for MCGEO, IAFF, FOP

The Montgomery County Council will review and is expected to vote on FY27 collective bargaining agreements with the Municipal and County Government Employees Organization (MCGEO/UFCW Local 1994), the Montgomery County Career Fire Fighters Association (IAFF Local 1664), and the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP Lodge 35) on May 4, 2026. The Council must indicate its intention to approve or reject the terms of each agreement by resolution no later than 11:59 p.m. on May 4. The combined compensation and benefits request across all four County-funded agencies totals $4.9 billion, a 4.5% increase over FY26.
