County Executive Marc Elrich and Council President Natali Fani-González announced $1.2 million in FY26 Nonprofit Security Grant Program awards to more than 90 organizations across Montgomery County on April 21, 2026. Grants are administered by the Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (OEMHS) and awarded to nonprofit and faith-based groups that have experienced or are at high risk of hate crimes. Funds may be used for security personnel, assessments, training, drills, and cameras, including devices that integrate with MCPD's real-time crime center.
