County Eyes Doubling Homeowner Assistance to $8M in FY26

As part of the More Housing N.O.W. package introduced January 28, 2025, Councilmembers Fani-González and Friedson are proposing to double county investment in the Homeowner Assistance Program from $4 million to $8 million within the FY26 Housing Initiative Fund (HIF). The proposal targets pathways to homeownership for workforce residents. The measure will be formally introduced February 4, 2025, with public hearings and committee worksessions to follow.
