Dedicated Bus Lanes on University Blvd, Georgia Ave Made Permanent

Dedicated bus lanes on University Boulevard and Georgia Avenue in Montgomery County were made permanent in spring 2025 following successful pilot programs. The lanes, owned and maintained by the Maryland Department of Transportation, benefit thousands of daily Ride On and Metro Bus riders by reducing travel time. The County also maintains dedicated bus lane segments along Fields Road, Decoverly Place, Diamondback Drive, Broschart Road, Medical Center Drive, and around the Germantown Transit Center.
