District 4 Traffic Calming, Pedestrian Safety Projects Underway

Stewart Apr 15, 2026
Multiple traffic calming and pedestrian safety improvements are at various stages across District 4, including completed traffic calming islands on Lyttonsville Road, centerline hardening on Seminary Road, and planned speed humps on Grace Church Road and Greyswood Road/Renita Lane. The McComas Avenue Neighborhood Greenway capital project, which includes raised intersections, curb extensions, speed humps, crosswalk reconstructions, and traffic calming islands, is currently under construction in Kensington Heights. The projects were developed in coordination with MCDOT, community associations, and Councilmember Stewart's office.
