DPS Issues New Rules for Little Free Library Permits

The Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services has published updated guidelines for installing a Little Free Library. No permit is required when the structure is on private property, but a permit — issued at no charge — is required for placement in a public right-of-way. The guidelines cover location and safety requirements for pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicle operators, as well as maintenance obligations and grounds for permit revocation.
