Flash BRT Blue Line Extends into Howard County Sept. 8

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, the US 29 Flash Bus Rapid Transit Blue line will extend north from Burtonsville into Howard County, adding four stops including the Mall at Columbia and Merriweather. The extension is a partnership between Montgomery and Howard Counties, running every 15 minutes during weekday rush hours. The current Blue Route operates between the Silver Spring Transit Center and Burtonsville.
