Free Student-Led Safety Day Set for May 9 in Rockville

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will host a free "Safety Day" event on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carver Educational Services Center (CESC), 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville. The event, organized and staffed by local high school students in the Vision Zero Youth Ambassador program, will feature bike, driver, and pedestrian safety demonstrations, interactive games, a bike raffle for K–5 students, a traffic garden for young children, food trucks, and free shuttle buses from several area schools. The event is co-sponsored by MCDOT, Montgomery County Public Schools, and Montgomery County Recreation.
