Glass Pushes Data Center Task Force During Moratorium

Councilmember Evan Glass is urging the Montgomery County Council to create a Data Center Task Force during the county's six-month moratorium on data center development. Glass originally introduced Bill 4-26 in January 2026 to establish the 15-member body, which would include representatives from environmental groups, civic organizations, the data center industry, utility companies, and trade unions. Over 12 months, the task force would develop recommendations for responsible, sustainable data center development in Montgomery County.
